Welcome and thank you for visiting!
My name is Jessica. I have two boys ages 19 and 4, a 2-year-old daughter, three angel babies, and a granddaughter.
Since having my oldest son when I was 14 years old, I’ve overcome many hurdles both financially and emotionally. I remember having to go to the food pantry because we didn’t have enough money for food. Somehow we managed to have a roof over our head even if it was renting a room from family members. I’m certain we moved at least 15 times before my oldest turned 18. The mom guilt has never gone away. It was certainly not easy raising a baby when I was still a baby myself. But I did it! I’m very proud of the man I raised. Seeing my son with his own child is reassuring to me that I did something right.
Fast forward to 2009 when I met my other half. My husband and I met through mutual friends we both grew up with. At first, I thought I was a bit more mature than he was. However, after spending more time with him I knew he was the one. Of course, it took him several years to pop the question but I do have to say it was worth the wait.
We got pregnant right away when we started trying but ended in our first miscarriage. It was one of the most difficult things we had to go through but brought even closer together. We then got pregnant shortly after with my one and only blue-eyed, blonde hair boy, Christian. He’s our first rainbow baby and I probably spoil him more because of that.
When we were ready to try for another one we struggled with two more miscarriages with the last one being a girl. I remember when the doctor informed us we lost a baby girl. I thought for sure that was our chance of having the baby girl I dreamed about. As we were going through the testing and following up with our genetics doctor, we learned we were pregnant with our baby girl, Natalia. She is a pint-sized firecracker. We are very blessed to have three healthy children and I count my blessings every day.
How did Simply Made Designs start? Well…. spending less time working and more time with family is on my priority list. My ultimate goal is to be a stay-at-home mom. I love sharing home decor, party planning ideas, family tips, beauty, and fashion so why not share it with the world!
I also want to encourage other women to start their own blog. I believe in women helping women.
